Optimising your landing page for PPC

5 top tips to optimising your PPC landing pages for conversions and customer confidence. Learn the importance of landing page optimisation in the PPC world.
Mar 21, 2024

Have you got relevant, targeted traffic coming through to your site? Have your Google Ads campaign account been set up and optimised to a T? Are you still struggling to get those all-important conversions? Maybe it’s time to look outside the ads account and more toward the pages you’re sending your customers to!

Getting your landing page right is essential. This is the page users are sent to once they click your ad, and, as we all know, first impressions count! The page should be functional, appealing to your audience and straight to the point.

Why is landing page optimisation important?

1. Increased Return on Investment

Increase the ROI of your account overall by increasing the likelihood of a user converting. A well-designed landing page that helps customers achieve their goals easily is ideal here!

2. Better Ad Quality Scores

The landing page your ad is going to is a huge part of the ad quality score, which can affect how often your ad is shown. The more relevant keywords, the better your score, so it's always best to tweak your page to be totally relevant to your campaign.

How to Optimise Your Landing Pages for PPC Campaigns

Have Calls-To-Actions Throughout The Page

You should keep all calls to action at the top of the page, maybe even the first thing a user sees when they get to the site. This will ensure that the user knows exactly how to get in touch, book an appointment or purchase from your site - depending on what kind of business you run!

It’s important to remember that calls to action should be repeated on the landing page. Once at the top is not enough if a user is reading a bulk of text on the landing page. We need to keep reminding the user that the primary reason they are here is to convert, and allow them to do so easily!

Testimonials and Reviews

Testimonials and reviews never go a miss on a website, so long as they’re good! Building trust with your audience is one of the most valuable things you can do to convince them to convert and keep them as a long-term customer.

Video Content

From explainer videos, meet the teams, or a product demonstration, embedded video content on your landing page will always encourage more conversions. Content marketing helps generate an increased interest in the product or service you have to offer. Struggling with content marketing? We can help there, too - check out our Content Marketing service.

Page Load Speed

We all know how impatient we are with pretty much everything these days, so when a customer comes to your site for the first time, and the webpage takes too long to load, you’ll notice your bounce rate go through the roof! The recommended page load speed for any webpage is 0-2 seconds, any longer, and you’ve paid for a click but lost the consumer’s interest!

Ensure Your Page is Mobile-Friendly

More than half of the traffic to webpages is done on a mobile device, so if your landing page is not mobile-friendly, you are definitely missing out! Without being optimised for mobile usage, you’ll find a lot of users will bounce off the page and go to a competitor for ease. The easier we can make the customer journey, the better.
